Audiobooks, Ebooks, Physical books!

I've heard a lot of discussions about audiobooks vs physical books vs ebooks. I have to tell you that I love all of them. It doesn't matter to me in what form I am reading as long as I'm reading. I always alternate between audiobook and ebook. I have very few physical books. In 2012 I got divorced and got myself a job traveling through the country. I donated all my books to the local Library and entered the world of ebooks( audiobooks were already part of the reading experience). And never left. I'd love to have a room with bookcases packed with books and a nice chair with the appropriate light and all that but that's not part of my reality. So in my reality, the best option for me is Kindle, OverDrive, Hoopla for my ebooks and audiobooks and, of course, the Library. I think one of the best quality we can cultivate as human beings are adaptability. Life is not what we want or hope for. So, we adapt and make that lemonade from the lemons thrown at us.

I never understood all the fuss some people make about any chosen form of reading. I mean it doesn't matter what you read as long as you do. I don't care if it's Reader's Digest, Comics, Classics, Magazines, Contemporary, Poetry, Newspaper or whatever. Reading is important. Reading takes you to places you could never go otherwise. It transports you to other worlds, to other life, it helps you escape for a little while whatever is hurting and it also helps you to experiment other people's life. See through other people's eyes. Get to know and see and experience new things all the time.

Yesterday I planned to finish "Magic Currents" by Jayne Faith but I finished the audiobook "Full Package" by Lauren Blakely. I know I'm not alone when I say that I read several books at the same time. So, Let's see what I'm reading now:

1- Magic Currents by Jayne Faith(kindle);
2- Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas( audiobook);
3- The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen( audiobook);
4- The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black (audiobook).

Wow! Let's see when I'll be able to finish all 4. Ha!

I'll be posting this off I go do some more reading!

Bye for now!

It's a brand New Year!

It's a brand New Year and I'm 70%  through Jayne Faith's " Magic Current". I love Jayne's writing and this book is certainly good. This book is part of the "The Cursed Angel Series" and the story of the Watchtower 8. I don't know if I'll read the other books in the series but I have to tell you that I'm intrigued by the premises of this series. Each book covers one Watchtower (there are 13) and it has a different author.

That's what GR says about the series:

"THE CURSED ANGEL WATCHTOWERS

Angels and Witches must join forces to overcome the Demons that have cursed the earth.

Many years ago, a demon inhabited a witch’s body to cast a spell to open all thirteen dimensions so that the demon spirits trapped there could be unleashed onto earth. But when the demons were released, the dimensions collided, creating rifts in the earth that re-divided the world into 13 continents, each with their own curse.

In each city, high and protected in the city’s Watchtower, the Demon Lord of that dimension resides. And so long as that Demon remains on earth, his curse will reign over the Circle where he resides. In an attempt to reverse the damage, 13 of the strongest angels were sent to earth to defeat the Demon Lords. However, their sacrifice came at a price: they would have to take on the curse of the circle they were sent to, and would be damned to earth until the curse was lifted.

Lifting the curse, however, means befriending a witch…which the angels believed to all be as evil as the demons themselves."

Even though I started with book eight I'm having no problem following the story. I'll finish it today. Probably. If I don't keep stopping to do something else. You know, trying to get started on the new year's  resolutions and all.

Well, I'll be leaving for now. Back to the book (or to play Farmville 2, or Sudoku, or Jigsaw. Who knows).
